Understanding the relationship between you and your coach is going to be extremely helpful to both parties during your time at Poehlmann Fitness. Not only will it benefit your communication, but having clear expectations for one another can also play a major role in your training and nutrition. For example, it wouldn't be a good idea to email your coach the first day you're on vacation, asking how you should handle your workouts (since you don't have a gym) and your nutrition (since you'll be eating out more). Your coach will be blindsided! With clear expectations and guidelines for communication, your coach will be able to serve you to the best of his/her ability, doing nothing but improving your health and the quality of your life.
Not so bad, right?
As I'm sure you know, the programs and nutrition protocols developed by your coach at Poehlmann Fitness are not magic pills. Although your coach is the one putting the programs together, calculating your macronutrients (we'll get into that later), adjusting your workouts, and consistently monitoring your progress, you are the only one that has control over your health. The decisions you make will either improve it, or make it worse. We can do all the work you could ever want behind the scenes, but if you're not capitalizing on the investment you made, progress won't take place.
Having said all of this, there is responsibility on your end to keep communication open with your coach. With all memberships and coaching services, unlimited email and messaging is available. Send a message from your Trainerize app whenever you have questions, thoughts, comments, concerns, wins, celebrations, etc. Use this to your advantage. Tell them ahead of time when you're leaving for vacation. Tell them when you're going to a wedding. Tell them when you're sick. Let them help you.
We are not mind readers. If you leave us in the dark and don't let us know what is going on in your world, we won't know how to best serve you.
Your coach will give you a set of guidelines that are optional to follow when it comes to checking in. By no means do you have to follow the guidelines. They're there to help you form your check-in and build rapport with your coach.
Now that you know you can freely contact your coach whenever you'd like, it's important to go over details with them. Your coach may have different office hours, and if they want to make themselves more available to you, they most certainly can. Otherwise, the following hours are general office hours created to respond to messages and emails in order to best serve you:
Monday - Friday: 8am-6pm MST
If you message your coach outside of those hours, do not expect him/her to get back to you until the following business day. This does not mean you should wait, though. If you have something to say or ask, do so right away!
If your coach has noticed that you have not communicated with them for a while, they will reach out to you in order to make sure all is well. Other than that, it is your responsibility to keep your coach in the loop.
If you didn't hear anything in this message, hear this:
We are ultimately here to serve. One of the things that allows us to best serve you is making sure both parties are under the same agreement and understanding. Respect your coach, their time, and keep them in the loop. If those things are met, you'll have one of the greatest experiences with Poehlmann Fitness. Speaking of a great experience, lets talk about your rewards program!
